SHENANGO TOWNSHIP (MERCER COUNTY)
The United States Census Bureau believes the total area of Shenango Township in Mercer County Pennsylvania to be just under 30 square miles. Estimated population for 2016 stands around 3,784 people. Median income for a family was around $41,000 in 2010.
Shenango Township has a volunteer fire department that is active in the community. Many firms dot the countryside as well as several housing developments. The west side of the township borders the State of Ohio. The township is someone split in two by the borough of West Middlesex with the main streets being Rt. 18 and Rt. 318. Proximity to I-80 and I-376 and I-79 make for an ideal commute to larger communities such as Pittsburgh, Erie and Cleveland.
Shenango Township is home to the 18 hole Oak Tree Golf Club Course.
West Middlesex Area School District is largely made up of residents from the township.
